چکیده

Abstract Background Malnutrition is a common finding after major abdominal surgeries especially prolonged period of fasting in children. Enteral feeding the commonest support way postoperatively for stimulating gut hormones, modulating immunity, and maintaining barrier function intestinal mucosa. Our aim was to compare results outcome regarding tolerance, nutritional status, hospital stay following postoperative diet peptide-based enteral formula against whole protein pediatric patients who had resection re-anastomosis intussusception. Results This prospective cohort study on two groups with total 30 during between January 2019 June 2020. All both underwent (resection intussusception). The first group received exclusively 3rd day while other same day. Postoperative mean serum albumin pre-albumin levels were significantly higher compared those protein-based as their initial feeds (P value < 0.05). average also shorter peptide Peptide easily tolerated than children surgeries. Conclusion Peptide-based formulas are better more useful regards status whole-protein post-operative course clinical economically stay.

Peptide-based enteral formula improves tolerance and clinical outcomes in abdominal surgery patients relative to a whole protein enteral formula

AIM To compare a dipeptide- and tripeptide-based enteral formula with a standard enteral formula for tolerance and nutritional outcomes in abdominal surgery patients. METHODS A retrospective study was performed to assess the differences between a whole-protein formula (WPF) and a dipeptide- and tripeptide-based formula (PEF) in clinical outcomes. Seventy-two adult intensive care unit (ICU) pa...

Whey- vs casein-based enteral formula and gastrointestinal function in children with cerebral palsy.

OBJECTIVES Children with severe cerebral palsy (CP) commonly have gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction. Whey-based enteral formulas have been postulated to reduce gastroesophageal reflux (GOR) and accelerate gastric emptying (GE). The authors investigated whether whey-based (vs casein-based) enteral formulas reduce GOR and accelerate GE in children who have severe CP with a gastrostomy and fundopl...

Determination of Furfural Compounds in Enteral Formula

HPLC methods are described for the determination of furanic compounds (hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural) in enteral formulas prepared with dextrinomaltose and milk proteins, and in model systems enclosing these ingredients. These compounds were extracted in aqueous solution, purified with organic solvents, and separated in a reversed-phase C18 column with water-acetonitrile (95:5 v/v). Averag...

Formula Switch Leads to Enteral Feeding Tolerance Improvements in Children With Developmental Delays

Background: Children with developmental delays are often dependent on enteral nutrition. The aim of our study was to evaluate improvement in tolerance parameters in these children who were switched from an intact protein formula to a 100% whey, peptide-based formula. Methods: A retrospective chart review of children with developmental delays who were failing to reach adequate nutritional goals ...

Tolerance of an enteral formula with insoluble and prebiotic fiber in children with compromised gastrointestinal function.

The effects of adding fiber to the tolerance of a peptide-based formula have not been studied. The objective of this study was to evaluate the tolerance of a peptide-based formula with insoluble and prebiotic fiber in children with compromised gut function. During January 2005 to June 2006, a 6-week randomized, double-blind, cross-over clinical study was conducted to compare stool frequency, st...
